Job Description
Our team is growing!
The Tax department plays much the same role as an outside firm offers to its clients. Since the position is definitely accounting and financial statement analysis oriented, the ideal person for the position would be a practicing accountant whose duties include preparing review engagement files, as well as preparing tax returns for their clients.
What will you have to do?
Prepares complete files to document year-end financial statements and completes them once reviewed (i.e. subsequent adjustments to the file, settles manager's notes, ensures all necessary documentation and correspondence is received and filed appropriately).
Resolve technical issues of moderate complexity and escalate any complex unresolved issues to the appropriate person at a higher level.
Business Taxation: General understanding of basic rules and ability to identify potential problems in accounting for corporate and commodity taxes.
Record accounting entries to adjust tax accounts.
Support during corporate tax audits.
Handle various mandates involving accounting, bookkeeping and sales taxes (e.g. business acquisition).

Minimum of five years experience in a similar position or in an accounting firm.
CPA designation is an asset.
Bilingual (English and French).
Superior technical skills.
Good knowledge of Excel, CaseWare, CaseView and Taxprep applications.
GST/QST: Understands basic concepts and compliance.
Organizational skills and prioritization skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Team player.
Excellent communication skills.
