MANAGER, MORTGAGE ADMINISTRATOR:
$77,864 - $91,605 (Annually)
Reporting to the Director, Lending Services, the Manager, Mortgage Administration, is responsible for overseeing the mortgage administration services function for BC Housing’s mortgage portfolios, including Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) devolved loans, new and existing social housing projects, and new housing programs. He/she/they leads the management of mortgage administration inquiries and requests from internal departments, housing providers, takeout lenders/counsel, CMHC, and external stakeholders; develops financial reports, procedures, templates and reporting tools; provides leadership and support to the team; and builds a collaborative and positive working relationships with team members and stakeholders. The position is responsible for reviewing complex mortgage registration packages, mortgage takeout/renewal security documents, tender documents, mortgage statements and notices to ensure submission packages are accurate and complete.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Considerable experience in managing internal and external client inquiries and resolving issues.
-
Sound experience in leading a team that administers a large CMHC-insured devolved and takeout mortgage portfolio.

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Extensive knowledge in mortgage administration, reporting/analysis models, and frameworks and CMHC reporting systems, processes, and controls.
-
Extensive knowledge of CMHC reporting, system, processes, and analysis functions within the mortgage insurance environment.
-
Extensive knowledge and understanding of CMHC-insured mortgage administration practices and processes.
-
Extensive knowledge of CMHC reporting and compliance requirements, CMHC General Sub-Ledger and Certificate of Insurance application system, process, and controls.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to learn and understand corporate enterprise applications (i.e., JD Edwards, WebFOCUS, and the Central Property System (CPS)).

Ability to learn and understand the Commission's mortgage programs and operating requirements, relevant BC Housing regulations, and the role of administering Federal housing programs.

Ability to lead complex and technical mortgage administrative requests and effectively communicate process, considerations, and implications to management.

Ability to work independently as well as function effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Ability to undertake complex mortgage administration analysis and facilitate improved business decision-making.
