Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting optometrists and optical staff in providing exceptional eye care services and ensuring a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of optical products, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in retail sales or laboratory settings is a plus, along with familiarity with medical terminology and optical equipment.
Duties
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear, including frames and lenses, ensuring they find suitable options based on their needs and preferences
- Prepare and process optical orders using laboratory equipment and ensure accuracy in measurements and prescriptions
- Maintain an organized optical inventory, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels
- Support the optometry team by preparing exam rooms, sterilizing equipment, and handling administrative tasks
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care to enhance their understanding and satisfaction
- Utilize retail sales skills to promote eyewear products and accessories effectively
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic health records systems
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a positive experience
Experience
Prior experience in this job is not needed. Full training is offered.
