Infant & Toddler Educator Overview
Tyke Town Early Learning is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Infant & Toddler Educator to join our team.
In this role, you will support the daily care, development, and well-being of infants and toddlers in a warm, nurturing, and play-based environment. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children, understands the importance of responsive care, and can build strong, respectful relationships with both children and families.
Our educators play an important role in creating a safe and engaging environment where children can explore, build confidence, develop new skills, and feel secure and supported throughout their day.
Duties
- Provide responsive, nurturing care to infants and toddlers throughout the day
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based activities that support social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
- Support children with daily routines including meals, diapering, toileting, rest, transitions, and outdoor play
- Observe children’s development and document meaningful milestones and learning experiences
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding their child’s day, development, and any concerns
- Support children with additional needs in an inclusive and respectful manner
- Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios and active supervision at all times
- Follow Tyke Town policies, licensing requirements, health and safety procedures, and behaviour guidance practices
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with other educators, management, and support professionals
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Infant & Toddler Educator certification in British Columbia is strongly preferred
- Valid Early Childhood Educator certification in British Columbia
- Current First Aid certification appropriate for childcare
- Clear criminal record check as required for licensed childcare
- Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting is preferred
- Strong understanding of child development and responsive, relationship-based care
- Knowledge of play-based and developmentally appropriate programming
- Ability to maintain active supervision and respond calmly and appropriately to children’s needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy childcare environment
- Experience supporting children with additional needs is considered an asset
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with children, families, and coworkers

Pay: $27.00-$29.79 per hour
