PDS Courier is seeking a dependable, professional, and customer-focused individual to provide courier and operational support services as an Independent Contractor for the City of Peterborough.
Position Details
- Compensation: $30.00 per hour
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: Approximately 5 hours per day
- Start Time: 7:30 AM
- Latest Finish Time: 1:30 PM
- Most days conclude earlier than 1:30 PM
- Contract Type: Independent Contractor
- Vehicle Required: Contractor must provide their own reliable SUV or Minivan
What You'll Do
- Pick up and deliver internal mail, documents, supplies, and other items within Peterborough.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and safe delivery of all assigned items.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with dispatch.
- Provide excellent customer service with every delivery and interaction.
- Handle packages and materials with care.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and applicable City policies.
- Maintain delivery records and required documentation.
- Support daily municipal operations and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Driver's License (Class G or higher).
- Good driving record.
- Access to a reliable SUV/Minivan
- Smartphone with GPS and data plan.
- Strong knowledge of local roads and neighborhoods.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Punctual, professional, and organized.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
