Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role will focus on supporting BBM’s growth in the West. You will be responsible for data projects that enable our Strategic Roadmap, establish governance across the BI requests, and drive best in class practices within BI.
This position calls for a flexible, business-minded individual who is focused on results as well as customer experience while driving change armed with strong critical thinking skills. To this end, you must be capable and comfortable challenging the status quo, while working effectively in a collaborative manner with all business units and levels.
This role is a mix of technical skills (SQL, ETL, SAS), Business Analyst (data discovery, business rules), and BI Analyst (analytics, reporting, presentation). You will bring significant understanding of the Western region customers, systems, processes and data as well as knowledge of BBM systems and data. This foundational background will enable you to help us discover data sources, establish connections to the data and rules for its use.
Focus on supporting Sales and Marketing to accelerate BBM’s growth in the West
Develop standard analytics program for the Western leadership team
Work with large data volumes efficiently using SAS, Teradata and Python
Use reporting analytics tools for reports and dashboards (MicroStrategy)
Provide analytical insights and present key findings to management teams and business stakeholders
Understand the Bell Business Markets environment, from a business performance point of view and provide analysis expertise to drive improved performance
Effectively engage and influence cross-functional teams to deliver highest level of quality on all projects within committed timelines and scope
Champion BI capabilities and create advocacy for the Business Intelligence team to our business partners and senior management
Lead the planning, identification, development and implementation of design and/or changes to key reports and ad hoc requests
Critical Qualifications & Competencies:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in BI, IT, CS, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics and/or related fields or experience
5+ years of experience in the data management discipline covering the data development, reporting, and analytics space.
Solid experience with SQL and ETL solutions, dealing with large databases
Good communication, teamwork, documentation and organizational skills
Demonstrated analytical ability with a focus on detail, accuracy, complex problem solving and logic capabilities
Strong problem solving skills - Ability to successfully resolve issues, diagnose business problems, plan, document and deliver solutions in timely manner; looking at issues at a micro and macro level
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously and to work independently and as part of an extended team
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, mainly in Excel and Powerpoint
Solid understanding of the BI lifecycle including the design, development, QA, maintenance, and support stages.
Excellent presentation skills
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, particularly in the area of customer and competitor/industry analysis, with an ability to extract strategic themes and quickly draw meaningful conclusions
Resourceful, autonomous, disciplined self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as part of an extended team
Passion for uncovering business needs, identifying opportunities, and aligning efforts to ensure timely implementation
Preferred experience with SAS Enterprise Guide (EG)
Hands on machine learning and AI experience strongly preferred
Experience in technology companies and/or telecom networks is a strong asset
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
