They are seeking a motivated Information Technology Manager (ITM) who shares their passion for operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences to join their team.
The IT Manager will report to the Vice President & Controller and will be responsible for overseeing and managing all corporate and restaurant IT resources and services for multiple locations across Canada. The role focuses on maximizing system uptime, responsiveness, availability, integrity, and security across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Technology Planning
- Understanding the technology landscape across the restaurant environment, supporting the restaurant locations and, when required, advising, planning and coordinating the upgrade paths and migration of systems to the latest solutions that fulfill the business needs.
- Being up to date on industry networking knowledge that will assist the organization in implementing solutions and strategies that relate to the restaurant industry including Payment Card Industry (PCI) and other standards, and cloud/hybrid solutions.
- Providing design, guidance, security and other tactical plans, such as disaster recovery and risk mitigation strategies, that create and maintain a secure information environment for the organization.
- Assisting with web and social media services, as well as mobile device deployment including Apple iPads, smartphones and other handheld devices such as “pay at table”.
Network Service and Support (at Head Office, Restaurants and home offices)
- Ensuring a consistent and reliable enterprise network, including wireless and LAN performance and deployment.
- Managing Remote Access VPN, firewall and other networking technologies.
- Providing effective management of email, Office 365, anti-spam, anti-phishing & anti-virus security.
- Implementing firewall security against web related threats.
- Configuring system security to ensure risk mitigation against vulnerabilities.
- Liaising with vendors to drive the highest standards in all applications and high technology network solutions.
Data Security Service and Support
- Providing updated anti-malware and anti-virus software and signatures.
- Implementing relevant data security standards, such as PCI, and encryption.
- Providing necessary cloud solutions such as backup protection and data archival.
- Ensuring adequate controls for mobile device and tablet computing.
- Enforcing application control and security.
- Adhering to best practices for internet browsing security and controls.
End User Support and Helpdesk
- Maintaining excellent knowledge of the company’s POS system (currently Squirrel) its hand-held & payment processing systems (currently Shift 4/Global) and networking requirements and the ability to operate/troubleshoot issues related to the environment.
- Maintaining strong working knowledge of the Open Table reservation management system.
- Maintaining strong knowledge of wine list/inventory systems (currently Accubar) and food inventory systems (currently OC), Windows Mobile Device Centre, Java and related systems.
- Providing onsite and remote support, to manage back-office workstations.
- Providing support for MS Office applications including Outlook email, webmail, Word, Excel, Adobe suite, Flash media, iTunes, EFax, Teams, GotoMeeting.
- Providing printing support and troubleshooting on fax, multifunction printers and scanners.
- Maintaining excellent knowledge of boardroom AV, restaurant AV and music player setup and configuration and security systems.
- Providing support for the Corporate Head Office environment and line of business applications, including accounting (currently Adagio) and payroll (currently Push) applications.
- Providing Mac and PC platform support, diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair.
- Assisting in vendor application troubleshooting and upgrades, such as Adagio, DataCare, FX and other related accounting applications.
Network Administration
- Providing administration of Active Directory users and groups.
- Managing password resets.
- Setting up and terminating account and email access.
- Administering backups, including checking backup job logs, error checking on system events.
- Managing power usage using UPS power configured for protection of critical equipment.
- Performing regular server health checks.
- Providing centralized administration and group policies.
- Assisting in software licensing, IT asset management and inventory.
- Monitoring key system events and proactively manage using enterprise software and toolsets.
Qualifications:
- Preferred post-secondary education in IT or Computer Sciences.
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years of relevant industry experience in IT systems management, preferably having held both technical support and management roles.
- Ideally hold industry standard certifications for enterprise platforms such as Microsoft and Cisco.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Operating systems, applications, IT management.
- Understanding of IT management and security in an enterprise restaurant network.
- Experience in security standards including PCI/DSS or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of high-end restaurant service to the extent that it relates to technology requirements is preferred.

Compensation:
- $140,000-150,000 annual base salary
