We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
Krawford Construction is seeking a highly motivated Safety Manager to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our employees by developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive safety program.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a company safety program that complies with all Alberta occupational health and safety legislation (OH&S Act) and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Investigate safety incidents and accidents, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Provide safety training and education to employees on various safety topics.
- Oversee the implementation of safe work procedures and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and records.
- Stay up-to-date on current health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with management and employees to foster a positive safety culture.
Qualifications:
- National Construction Safety Officer's (NCSO) Designation a requirement
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a safety role within a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of Alberta's OH&S Act and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver safety training programs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent computer literacy with proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office.
