Financial Analyst - Entry Level - Oakville

Kiewit Eastern Canada is currently looking for an entry-level Business Specialist. This person will be part of the project management team and will need to possess the skills to manage a fast-paced construction office. The ideal candidate must be able to meet deadlines and contribute to a positive, safe, high-quality culture. The construction industry is a fast-paced environment that requires decision-making and problem-solving skills. Critical components of the job are: extensive involvement in the operation of the cost control system and detailed analysis of construction costs.

Responsibilities

Transactional accounting (payroll, payables, receivables)
Job cost management and reporting
Purchasing
Human resources including employment law and labor compliance
Environmental compliance
Subcontract administration
Tax issues
Business law as it relates to our operations (prompt payment, liens, etc.)

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in accounting, business, economics, finance or related field or equivalent work experience
Must possess knowledge of basic accounting functions
Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
SAP experience preferred
Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Effective presentation skills
Works independently as well as part of a team
Must be willing and able to travel and relocate
Must be a self-starter, willing to do what it takes to get the job done
