Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality home care. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of seniors and persons with disabilities. The position involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. Candidates should have experience or interest in senior care, home care, and working with individuals with special needs. This is a paid position suitable for those committed to caregiving and personal support roles.
Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor health conditions
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Engage clients in social activities and companionship to enhance emotional well-being
- Monitor client safety and report any concerns or changes in condition to healthcare professionals
- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper techniques to prevent injury
- Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments through specialized care approaches
- Document care provided accurately in compliance with agency policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments is preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, medication administration, and working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform caregiving tasks including cleaning, meal preparation, and personal support activities
- Certification or training in caregiving or personal support work is mandatory
- Ability to work independently while following established care plans
- Reliable transportation or valid driver’s license may be required depending on the role location
