BDA Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Accounting Clerk to support the accounting and project administration functions of a busy general contracting organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for construction accounts payable administration, subcontractor compliance management, vendor onboarding, project cost support, and financial record maintenance across multiple active construction projects.
This role requires a strong understanding of construction accounting practices, subcontractor administration, construction contract documentation, and technology platforms commonly used within the construction industry. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and the finance team.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of Construction Accounting experience with an ICI General Contractor is required.
- Working experience and ability to handle confidential financial, employee information, vendor, subcontractor, and related-company information with discretion and professionalism is required.
- Project accounting knowledge, including construction cost accruals, purchase order reconciliations, and month-end support.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Hands-on experience with construction software platforms and accounting system integrations is required, such as Autodesk Construction Cloud and Agave software integration platforms
- Demonstrated experience integrating construction management software with accounting systems for invoice processing, project documentation, subcontractor administration, and financial reporting is required.

Key Responsibilities
- Support accounting software integration workflows between Autodesk Construction Cloud, Agave, and accounting systems, also able to develop, document, and improve accounting workflows for accounts payable, project cost coding, subcontractor administration, employee expenses, software integrations, and month-end processes.
- Enter and Review subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, vendor statements, and supporting documentation for payment approval, including familiarity with CCDC contract documentation. Maintain bookkeeping records for related companies, including intercompany transactions, expense allocations, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Process and review employee expense reports, reimbursements, credit card charges, and supporting receipts in accordance with company policy.
- Prepare and complete vendor, supplier, subcontractor, and financial credit applications, including gathering company information, trade references, insurance details, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with creating, updating, and monitoring projects, departmental, and related-company budgets, including budget tracking and variance support.
- Support accounting and documentation requirements for government-funded, public-sector, and institutional construction clients, including accurate recordkeeping, compliance tracking, and audit-ready documentation.
- Coordinate construction vendor onboarding, banking information verification, and subcontractor compliance requirements.
- Review, track, and maintain Certificates of Insurance, WSIB Clearance Certificates, and related subcontractor compliance documentation.
