General Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized General Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end and year-end processes, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Financial Reporting & Close
- Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Prepare management reporting packages for senior leadership
Accounting Operations
- Oversee general ledger integrity and chart of accounts maintenance
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations, and expense reports
- Ensure accurate and timely HST/GST filings and remittances
Compliance & Regulatory
- Ensure compliance with CRA requirements
- Assist with year-end external audit and preparation of working papers
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting processes and systems
- Support ERP system upgrades and financial system projects
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles
- Experience with HST/GST filings and account reconciliations
- Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems (Sage experience is an asset)
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred
- Manufacturing experience
- CPA designation or currently pursuing CPA
- Experience with inventory accounting and costing

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
