Production Welder Assembler / Trainee

Trenergy Inc. is a 100% locally owned fabrication plant in St. Catharines, Ontario, specializing in the manufacture of boilers, pressure vessels, and structural steel construction.
We are looking for hardworking, motivated individuals to join our growing team as Production Welder Assemblers / Trainees. This is a current and active position, and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Principal Responsibilities
The Production Welder Assembler / Trainee will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings and blueprints.
- Performing necessary material layout and measurements.
- Jig fitting and fitting up components for welding.
- Setting up and performing plasma cutting and carbon arc back gouging as required.
- Performing hot work as required.
- Setting up and welding using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes in multiple positions.
- Handling and positioning materials within the work area using overhead cranes, rolls, lifting devices, and other equipment.
- Preparing completed welds for quality assurance and inspection.
- Following established quality assurance systems, procedures, and welding specifications.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Working in confined spaces when required.
- Following all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Working collaboratively with supervisors, welders, fitters, and other production personnel.
QualificationsWelder Assembler
- 3–5 years of experience in the steel fabrication or heavy industrial manufacturing industry.
- A.S.M.E. and/or CWB welding certifications are an asset.
- Strong knowledge of fitting and welding in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Competent in blueprint and fabrication drawing interpretation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of quality assurance systems and procedures.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and other lifting devices.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Welding school or college diploma is an asset.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Welder Assembler Trainee
Candidates with limited industrial experience may be considered for the Trainee position where they demonstrate a strong interest in developing their welding and fabrication skills.
The successful trainee must:
- Have a willingness to learn and develop welding and fitting skills.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.
- Be mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools and equipment.
- Have the ability to read and understand basic drawings, or demonstrate the ability to learn.
- Be willing to participate in on-the-job training and skills development.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Be willing to obtain applicable welding certifications as required.
Working Conditions
This is a hands-on, industrial manufacturing position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working around heavy equipment and materials and performing physical work in a fabrication environment.
Confined space work, hot work, overhead crane operations, and other industrial tasks may be required.
