Job Description: Experienced Part-Time Barista For Fast Paced Donut Shop
Job Summary
Donut Monster is a specialty donut producer that supplies fresh, from-scratch donuts in Hamilton. Our flagship retail location at 246 Locke Street South is open for take out customers and pre-orders. This is a part-time position of 15-25 hours a week. Our operating hours are 7am to 7pm, and shifts range in length from 4-8 hours. We are looking for an engaging and confident barista with a knack for customer service. Experience in third wave coffee is a must -- we are looking for a candidate that will not require additional training on bar. Weekend availability is also a must. This is currently a seasonal/maternity leave coverage but may expand into a permanent position.
Responsibilities and Duties
Your job is to greet customers and create a positive and welcoming experience, prepare hot and cold specialty drinks with a high attention to detail and quality, package and serve donuts taking care in presentation and customer delivery of the product, and operate the point of sale system accurately. Additional duties plating donuts, cleaning the cafe area and outdoor seating, washrooms, windows, assisting with breakfast menu item tasks as needed and doing dishes in back of house.
As a barista you will be preparing hot and cold specialty beverages and performing regular maintenance on equipment. You will assist with dialling in new filter coffees and espressos and monitor the quality of both throughout the week.
The salary range for this position starts at $18.00 per hour, plus cash tips paid out biweekly.
