Child Care Worker (Level 1) – Full-Time Summer Position (July & August 2026)

Castle Mountain Child Development Centre is seeking a caring, reliable, and energetic Child Care Worker (Level 1) to join our team for a full-time position during July and August, with the possibility of continued employment beyond the summer.
We are a licensed childcare centre committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. We are looking for individuals who genuinely enjoy working with children and are willing to support our educators in delivering high-quality care and programming.
Wage
- $15.00/hour base wage
- $2.64/hour Alberta Wage Top-Up
- Total compensation: $17.64/hour
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Assist educators with implementing age-appropriate activities, crafts, games, and learning experiences.
- Engage positively with children to encourage social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment.
- Assist with daily routines, including meals, snacks, toileting, diapering, handwashing, dressing, and transitions.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to centre procedures.
- Monitor children during indoor and outdoor play.
- Perform regular cleaning and sanitizing duties throughout the day.
- Assist with nap time supervision and classroom setup.
- Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and centre policies.
- Communicate professionally with coworkers, supervisors, and families.
- Be flexible and willing to work with various age groups as required.
Qualifications
- Alberta Child Care Certification – Level 1 minimum (required).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (required).
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (required prior to employment).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience working in a licensed childcare setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Physically able to lift, carry, and participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
- Ability to work opening or closing shifts as required.
