Position Overview:
- Position Status: Apprentice Electrician
- Reporting To: Journeyman Electricians, Foreman, and Management
- Liaise With: Other apprentices, journeypersons, office team, and clients
- Expected Hours of Work: Full-time, project-based hours
- Compensation:Negotiable/Based on experience and demonstrated ability
3rd Year Apprentice Role:
Act as a leader-in-training. Demonstrate advanced technical skills, contribute to layout and planning, and support safety and job coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Lead small tasks or phases under minimal supervision
- Begin/layout work with minimal assistance
- Ensure full compliance with safety protocols
- Coordinate tasks with the team and identify potential delays
- Provide constructive feedback to junior apprentices
Client Interaction:
- Represent the company with professionalism during walkthroughs or updates
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- All 1st and 2nd year KPIs, plus:
- Takes ownership of delegated tasks
- Supports layout and planning activities
- Demonstrates leadership and training of junior apprentices
4th Year Apprentice Role:
Prepare for Red Seal/Journeyperson status. Display near-complete independence in task execution and decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Run day-to-day operations on small jobs or service calls
- Assist in estimating materials and time for job phases
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic work
- Lead teams of apprentices under journeyperson oversight
- Conduct safety walkthroughs and contribute to pre-job planning
Client Interaction:
- Lead professional communication with clients where appropriate
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- All previous KPIs, plus:
- Capable of running small-scale jobs w/direction and minimal supervision
- Performs diagnostics and planning tasks with minimal supervision
- Acts as a mentor and leader within the apprentice team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
