Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. This role is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and ensuring smooth operations at our restaurant or hotel. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest service. Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or restaurant settings is preferred but not required. This position offers an opportunity to develop valuable customer service skills in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage seating arrangements efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand or reception area
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Provide accurate wait times and assist guests with inquiries about the menu or services
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service
- Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information and taking reservations as needed
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the dining or hotel lobby area
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure seamless guest experiences
Skills
- Strong guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Experience in serving, hospitality, or food service environments preferred
- Knowledge of restaurant POS systems, especially Micros POS, is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Professional appearance and demeanor suitable for hospitality environments
- Previous hotel or restaurant experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities
