Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing tile surfaces in residential and commercial spaces. This role requires a strong understanding of flooring installation, tile laying techniques, and blueprint reading to ensure precise and high-quality work. Candidates should have hands-on experience with hand tools and construction practices, with a focus on delivering durable and aesthetically pleasing results.
Duties
- Measure, cut, and install tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces according to project specifications
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying appropriate adhesives or mortar
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine layout and design plans
- Use hand tools such as trowels, saws, levels, and grout floats to complete installations
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and building codes
- Perform repairs or replacements of existing tile surfaces as needed
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as carpenters and masons to coordinate project tasks
- Apply caulking and sealants to ensure waterproofing and finish quality
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly store tools and materials
Experience
- Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction work is preferred
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Hands-on knowledge of hand tools, carpentry, caulking, and general maintenance person skills
- Prior experience working with construction teams on residential or commercial projects is advantageous
- Ability to demonstrate precision in measuring, cutting, and installing tiles for a seamless finish
