Established in 2020, HARVEST Clean Eats is a Halifax-based fast-casual restaurant with seven locations. HARVEST offers a selection of delicious power bowls, salads, sandwiches, smoothies, and specialty coffee. HARVEST’s chef-driven dishes are made with only the best quality fresh ingredients that are made in-house, from scratch daily. HARVEST’s goal is to transform the way people think about healthy eating while spreading the word about sustainable food systems. Our Mission: To promote a localized supply chain throughout Canada that delivers fast and fresh meals while reducing environmental impacts and encouraging others to support local and eat clean.
As our company has begun to grow along the east coast of Canada, with 9 locations by the end of 2023, so has our team! Now we are in need of a strong like minded individual who craves new opportunities and can financially strategically assist HARVEST in its growth!

About The Job: Here at HARVEST we believe that success depends on our personnel. Someone who is enthusiastic, attentive to detail, a strategic thinker and who has strong interpersonal abilities. As the financial controller would directly report to our CEO & Founder, Connor Stoilov. The controller will be responsible for a range of key financial responsibilities as well as collaborating on a range of special projects.
Tasks and Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Building efficient financial models that capture different business scenarios, market trends, and potential outcomes.
- Maintaining consistent reporting and positive working relations with our partners, banks, franchise partners, external accountants/auditors, and any government agencies, representing the company as needed
- Monitor the status of Accounts Receivable aging and billing collections to achieve company standards.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support business decisions and growth initiatives
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and accounting standards

An ideal candidate has the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; CPA certification preferred
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
