Job Overview
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Draftsperson to support our design and manufacturing teams. This is a great opportunity for someone with basic SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience who wants to develop their drafting and manufacturing knowledge in a practical production environment.
In this role, you’ll create and update drawings, detail basic parts and assemblies, prepare production information, and assist with programming fabrication equipment. You’ll work closely with designers, engineers, and production staff to help ensure drawings and programs are accurate, clear, and ready for manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Junior Draftsperson will:
- Create and modify drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Detail basic parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Prepare and update production drawings and related documentation.
- Estimate materials used and complete material charge sheets.
- Create programs for production machines.
- Assist with maintaining drawing and program revisions.
- Work with designers and production staff to resolve basic drawing or manufacturing questions.
- Follow established drafting standards and manufacturing procedures.
- Perform duties according to Sabre’s quality-system procedures and work instructions.
- Complete other duties and tasks as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
We’re looking for someone with:
- Basic experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- The ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings.
- Good computer and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- The ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An interest in mechanical design, drafting, or manufacturing.
Experience with sheet-metal fabrication, CNC programming, electrical equipment, or manufacturing is considered an asset but is not required.
Education and Experience
- A diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design and Drafting Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field—or relevant experience in manufacturing or design—is preferred.
- Recent graduates and applicants with equivalent drafting, design, or manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
