The AMA is recruiting for the position of Associate Insurance Advisor. As a member of the ADIUM Insurance Services team, the Associate Insurance Advisor will play a critical role in supporting AMA initiatives by providing members with personal insurance planning services and implementing insurance solutions.

The AMA has a hybrid work environment. The successful candidate will be based out of our Edmonton or Calgary office and will have the opportunity to work from home, but will be required to go into the office or attend in person when required. Travel throughout Alberta will occasionally be required.
Team Overview
ADIUM Insurance Services Inc. offers a broad range of voluntary group insurance programs to AMA members, their families and their office staff. Plans include disability, professional overhead expense, life, critical illness, accidental death & dismemberment and health and dental (AMA Health Benefits Trust Fund) insurance. ADIUM also offers a suite of individual lifestyle protection solutions to complement the group insurance offerings.
To provide members with personal insurance planning services and implementation of insurance solutions to meet their needs in an unbiased and pressure-free environment. The individual will work primarily with medical students, residents, and early career physician members, as well as collaboratively with provincial medical association colleagues and MD Financial Management (MDFM) early career financial consultants. The individual is also responsible for other general administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a unique and competitively superior insurance purchasing experience to members, both at time of sale and in post-sale servicing, working primarily with students, residents and early career physicians.
- Building successful working relationships with members, MDFM financial and insurance consultants and other stakeholders (e.g., Professional Association of Resident Physicians of Alberta, university medical education offices, insurance company staff).
- Presentations to students and residents (virtual and in person).
- Attendance at various orientations, trade shows, educational seminars (e.g., student/resident orientations, AMA RF/AGM, etc.) across the province to promote ADIUM’s insurance products.
- Complete pre-underwriting interviews and assessments to guide insurance recommendations.
- Ensure applications are in good order prior to submission to ADIUM administrators.
- Enforce administration (e.g. beneficiary and banking changes, maintaining and updating ADIUM client lists, lapse notices, etc.) for third-party business.
- In conjunction with the Director, maintain inventory of promotional marketing material.

Two-year business administration diploma, or similar.
- Life and Accident & Sickness Licensing through the Alberta Insurance Council.
- Insurance industry designation(s) is not required but considered an asset.
- A minimum of two years of insurance related or financial services industry experience.
- A working knowledge of both group and individual insurance products.
- Successful working relationships with other members of the financial planning team (financial consultants, accountants, lawyers).

The salary for this role is between $66,060 - $85,880 per annum.
