At Healthcare & Municipal Employees' Credit Union (HMECU), the Director - Advice & Growth is responsible for leading our member-facing advice, growth, and relationship management functions across all service channels, including branch operations, HMECU Connect, wealth services, and future insurance offerings.
This role is ideal for a strategic leader who is passionate about developing people, strengthening member relationships, and creating exceptional member experiences. You'll play a key role in translating HMECU's Unique Value Proposition into meaningful outcomes while supporting sustainable growth and organizational success.

Develop and execute strategies that support membership growth, deposit growth, lending growth, and relationship deepening

Establish advisor effectiveness standards across branch, virtual, wealth, and future insurance channels

Strengthen referral practices and promote a culture of proactive member engagement

Monitor key growth metrics and partner with leaders to drive performance improvement

Lead the translation of HMECU's Unique Value Proposition into consistent member experiences

Review and improve member journeys across all service channels

Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery, advisor effectiveness, and member satisfaction

Support the execution of strategic initiatives that strengthen member relationships and organizational performance

Provide leadership and oversight to Branch Managers, the Manager of HMECU Connect, and wealth leadership

Coach and develop leaders to build engaged, high-performing teams

Support workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Participate in the development and execution of HMECU's strategic plan

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to achieve organizational goals

Provide insights related to member behaviour, service delivery, growth opportunities, and emerging industry trends

Lead or participate in strategic projects and organizational initiatives

7+ years of progressive leadership experience within a credit union or financial institution

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Demonstrated success leading member-facing teams and achieving growth objectives

Strong understanding of retail banking, lending, deposits, wealth services, insurance, and relationship management practices

Experience coaching leaders and developing high-performing teams

Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills

Experience leading organizational change and implementing strategic initiatives

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to translate data into actionable business strategies

Compensation Range: $93,600 - $140,400
