WHAT THIS CHALLENGE IS ABOUT

You will be part of the Investment Optimization and Capital Markets department, which manages Ivanhoé Cambridge’s debt portfolio ($23 billion);
Over the past two years, Ivanhoé Cambridge has made many improvements to its financing approach, particularly with regard to leveraging data to adopt a more dynamic and proactive management style:
Standardized processes to avoid manual and/or redundant tasks;
Implemented a CRM system to improve relationships with banking institutions, collect market data and leverage it using artificial intelligence;
Created smart databases to rapidly analyze financing proposals;
Documented standard financing terms and conditions for specific transactions; set up a tool for managers to adjust financing offers;
The intern will be responsible for setting up a project management approach that keeps stakeholders connected and helps ensure the four sites are delivered in a unified way;

The intern will also have the following duties:
Identify and propose ways to improve the financing process;
Assist in arranging financing (analysis and recommendations);
Work with the internal audit team to document and improve processes;
Set up dynamic dashboards in collaboration with the business units to help them better understand Ivanhoé Cambridge’s debt portfolio;
Work with the legal team (capital markets) to source collaborative tools;
Put together presentations on the initiatives of other Ivanhoé Cambridge teams for them to use or adapt.

What we’re looking for
Enrolment in the third or fourth year of a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in finance, accounting or information technology;
Fluency in written and spoken French and English;
Level I CFA in progress;
Sound understanding of financial concepts;
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including VBA;
Ability to analyze and structure complex data;
Familiarity with information systems and data mining;
Thorough knowledge of Office 365, including Power BI and Dynamics 365;
Self-motivated;
Good work ethic;
Teamwork-oriented and focused on results and solutions;
Excellent information processing skills.
