ABOUT AGE
Advanced Gerontological Education (AGE) Inc. is a national non-funded not-for-profit social enterprise committed to enhancing the care of older adults through dementia education products and services, with profits reinvested to further advance our social mission. Our main product is Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) in Dementia Care, a curriculum for formal care providers who work with older adults at the point of care across Canada. We are based in Hamilton, Ontario.
ABOUT DIGITAL MARKETING SPECIALIST ROLE
The Digital Marketing Specialist will support our mission and help enable the growth of AGE to drive revenue and maximize public awareness and exposure through optimizing and growing our digital strategies as part of an overall marketing plan. This is a Full-Time, Permanent position requiring 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to work remotely, Monday through Friday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Executive Director to develop, manage, and execute an annual strategic marketing plan for AGE
- Conduct market research to understand target audiences, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Engage in peer-to-peer collaboration to share insights, ideas, and feedback, ensuring the marketing strategy reflects a collective understanding of target audiences, market trends, and competitor activities.
- Map and optimize the customer journey to enhance user experience, engagement & identity growth opportunities
- Collaborate with Research & Development (R&D) , Education & Program Development departments (EPDD) to coordinate marketing efforts and generate leads and partnership opportunities.
- Develops promotional materials aligned with AGE's products and marketing strategies, including email campaigns, flyers, presentations, articles, etc.
- Create and execute marketing campaigns across various digital channels, like email, social media, paid advertising and search engine optimization to promote key GPA Products & Services
- Track marketing metrics and analyze digital data to measure marketing success.
- Optimize the AGE website and social media accounts to increase online traffic and engagement.
- Coordinate video/content production as required
- Other duties as required by the Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in Marketing, digital promotions, and developing marketing plans; experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus.
- Proficiency in Marketing strategies, including social media management, content marketing, email marketing, and SEO/SEM.
- Experience in creating marketing materials for digital mediums, including websites, social media and online advertising.
- Strong skills in brand development and management, with a focus on maintaining consistent messaging and visual identity.
- The capacity to adapt to changing market trends and technologies in the rapidly evolving field of marketing and communications.
- Experience in selecting and managing external design vendors, contractors or agencies when necessary.
- Proficient in industry-standard graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), as well as knowledge of emerging design tools and trends.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms and basic HTML (WordPress, etc.)
- Direct experience with graphic design, web page and other marketing-related software tools
- In depth knowledge and understanding of all social media platforms including but not limited to (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Threads etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing deadlines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- The Digital Marketing Specialist typically works remotely from their home.
- Regular working hours may be followed, with the possibility of occasional overtime during peak periods.
- The role involves collaborating with various departments and interacting with employees at all levels within the organization.
