Scope of Position:
The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for working with Suppliers to contain quality issues and improve overall supplier quality through Supplier Development Activities.
Responsibilities:
- When a supplier issue is identified the SQE will own the issue, from containing the problem at Multimatic to keeping the lines running and preventing the issue from escaping to the Customer location.
- Authority to communicate with Suppliers.
- Contacts and follows up with suppliers to implement and verify corrective actions at Multimatic and supplier locations.
- Collects all data pertaining to quality issues on Multimatic DMN’s, including costs and all actions. Finalizes DMN costs and corrective actions, presents the same to quality manager or designate for closure.
- Supplier Audits, Reporting and follows up with corrective action where identified.
- Prepares monthly Supplier Performance Reporting and exports to the Web.
- Maintains the Multimatic DMN system.
- Reviews Supplier PPAPs, follows up, obtains the necessary evidence to establish conformance to the various drawing and specification requirements, and approves once complete.
- Follows up on supplier Annual Lab Test Data and 100%-Dimensional Layout.
- Ongoing, daily review and disposition of inventory in QA’s Quarantine inventory location.
- Perform Layered Audits and address non-conformances
- Participate in DMN and Continuous Improvement Activities.
- Adopt and practice Kaizen Principles and Concepts.
- Participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned in QA department.
- Work in compliance and conform to all applicable standards.
Requirements:
- Possess a University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent and/or previous relevant manufacturing experience
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings and GD&T with a complete understanding of SPC, PPAP process and problem-solving methodology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills – dealing with suppliers and various departments
- Flexibility to travel
- Proficient in computer software, Microsoft Office
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) would be an asset.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO 14001 standards would be an asset
- Ability to read, write and speak English
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
