Research Analyst II

The Research Analyst II will be an integral part of the Radiation Medicine Program Clinical Research Team & Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) Program. The role requires an individual who is detail-oriented and able to plan, implement & coordinate all aspects of data collection and entry using a variety of different sources and data management systems as well as act as a database custodian for all incoming requests for data usage. The individual will also be an active participant in initial study design, focusing on Patient Reported Outcomes Collection in the clinical setting, and development of program specific research processes & procedures.

The Research Analyst must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as they will function as a key coordinator and integrated member of the care team across different disease sites. They will have strong skills in data management and ability to understand and learn and use different systems and applications utilized within clinics. This role will require interactions with patients and the ability to understand patient needs and limitations while optimizing their process to collect the necessary data. This role will need to be proficient and methodical in data collection to ensure the outcome data can be used as described. It is expected the initial implementation of this project will lead to expansion and inclusion of additional programs and as such, the concepts devised should be scalable.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years related experience
  • Demonstrated project coordination experience
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodology an asset
  • Demonstrated experience using data management software applications required
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting is required – specifically in clinical research and interactions with patients would be an asset
  • General knowledge of research principles, concepts and techniques relating to data collection and data management
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills primarily for the purposes of exchanging and/or clarifying information and resolving problems within scope of authority
  • Knowledge and experience in conducting literature searches, environmental scans and surveys
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Environment (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) required
  • Demonstrates an ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to attend to detail and produce accurate, high quality work
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational, time management, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to identify own instructional needs and seek appropriate advice/resources.
