A goal of this course is to ensure that all recruits maintain CAF physical fitness standard; as a result, the training is physically demanding.
The minimum required education to apply for this position is the completion of the provincial requirements for Grade 10 and Grade 10 Academic Mathematics or Secondaire IV in Quebec. Foreign education may be accepted.

This position is available for part-time employment with the Royal Canadian Air Force Reserve. Reservists generally work part-time, eight to 12 days a month and, under certain circumstances, periods of full-time employment may also be available. They are paid during their training, are not posted or required to move. They may also volunteer for deployments on a military mission within or outside Canada.
Among the many benefits, the RCAF Reserve offers a competitive pension plan, dental insurance, and reimbursement for college or university courses to a maximum of $8,000 during your career.
Reserve Force Training and Employment
Construction Technicians train and are employed with their home unit to ensure that they meet the required professional standards of the job. Once Basic Military Training is completed, Construction Technicians attend the Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering (CFSME) in Gagetown, NB. Members are not required to pay for this training, are paid during their training (plus additional benefits), and have all equipment and necessary tools provided by the Canadian Armed Forces. New recruits are also offered the opportunity of up to four months of full-time employment annually during the first four years of service in addition to the normal employment provided by their home unit.
