Pleora is looking for an enthusiastic Product Manager to join our team and lead initiatives in IIoT, Industry
4.0, and our smart video switching platforms. The Product Manager will be responsible and involved from start to finish in creating software and hardware solutions for our markets in Industrial Machine Vision,
Medical Imaging and Defense. As a Product Manager, you will own the business strategy, develop an intimate understanding of our customer needs, and be the go-to person for the products that you own.
You’ll work closely with our UXD, Sales, Applications Engineering and R&D teams to define, develop and ultimately ensure the success of the products on the market. Be a part in defining our next generation platforms for sensor networking.
What does a Product Manager do?
Be responsible for the product’s success
Work closely with User Experience Design (UXD), Marketing, Sales and Applications Engineering
(AE) teams to drive product ideation, definition and go to market
Identify market requirements – features, performance, and functions - for current and future products
Understand user problems – we believe a product should be the outcome of a user problem that we are trying to solve
Be in continuous dialogue with Sales, Pre-Sales, and customers to help improve products over their lifetime
Partner with R&D and UXD teams in the development of products from prototyping and defining the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) requirements
Develop product pricing, content for collateral, and roll-out strategies
Be the product owner for the development team to help prioritize the product backlog in R&D
Participate in customer meetings, tradeshows and conferences to speak about products
Identify appropriate product demonstrations for trade shows and customer demos
Support the sales team with product information and positioning
Evaluate competiveness of products and analyze areas of improvement based of market feedback and internal feedback from different teams
Provide content for and perform detailed reviews of product documentation (including user guides, datasheets, etc.), to ensure technical accuracy, clarity and usability
Participate in the creation and evolution of marketing and sales tools, including introductory product videos, competitive analysis documents, blogs, etc.
Identify potential partners or complementary solutions that may benefit the product
Other duties may be assigned as required
Requirements you will need
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Marketing required, or related discipline; or a combination of work experience and education
MBA is an asset
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a product management role
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Experience in managing both hardware and software products
Solid understanding of technology, including CPU, GPU and FPGA processing
Solid understanding of software applications and SDKs
Customer focus and experience working with UXD teams
Experience with tools such as JIRA and Confluence, to help manage and prioritize feature requests, customer feedback and needs
Solid knowledge of video and sensors for industrial vision systems, medical imaging systems, and/or military imaging systems
Experience in the following is an asset: o Inspection / Production Systems o Familiarity with IIoT protocols used in industrial environments o AI, Machine Learning, Image Processing
