Lafarge has an immediate opening for an experienced Concrete Finisher who will join our Foothills Ready Mix and Construction team in Calgary.
Responsibilities and not limited to:
Perform general construction labor to include jobsite clean-up and moving of materials by hand.
Operating motorized equipment including power tools, grinders, saws, hammers, etc.
Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
Assist in pouring and placing concrete.
Mostly interior work but could be exposed to cold and heat, noise and dust from construction operations depending upon project site.
High school diploma
Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested.
Frequently walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching and climbing.
Frequent use of hand tools such as power tools, circular saws, hammers, nails, and bolts.
Valid driver’s license
Preference given to candidates with concrete construction labor work experience at meets or exceeds performance expectations.
Preference also given to those willing to learn and work in a team environment.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to work in a fast paced, high production environment
Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
Able to work unsupervised
Able to work well with others
Good communication skills
