Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented Lunch Cook / Prep Cook to join our café team in a permanent part-time position (25+ hours per week).
This is a long-term opportunity. We are not hiring students or seeking seasonal employees at this time. We are looking for someone who wants to become a valued member of our team and grow with our business.
At our café, everything is made from scratch. We bake our own breads, prepare our soups, salads, and sandwiches in-house, and use fresh, whole, minimally processed ingredients to create exceptional meals for our guests. Every plate that leaves our kitchen reflects our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and beautiful presentation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare gourmet soups, fresh salads, and artisan sandwiches entirely from scratch.
- Cook, slice, and process fresh, drug-free, minimally processed meats.
- Wash, chop, and prepare fresh vegetables, herbs, and other ingredients daily.
- Create beautifully plated meals with exceptional attention to detail and presentation.
- Work with our house-made breads to build gourmet sandwiches.
- Follow recipes and maintain consistency in quality, taste, and appearance.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards.
- Assist with daily prep, inventory, and maintaining a well-stocked kitchen.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a prep cook, line cook, café cook, or in a scratch kitchen is preferred.
- Passion for cooking with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- An eye for detail and pride in creating visually stunning, restaurant-quality plates.
- Comfortable handling and preparing fresh meats and produce.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
