- The incumbent performs all of the following duties:
- Prepare and cook complete meals for residents, including special meals for residents as instructed by dietician
- Monitor proper food temperature and storage
- Help in overseeing kitchen operations
- Clean and maintain spotless kitchen, work areas, dishes, utensils, food preparation aids, appliances and dining area
- Follow dietician approved menu and food portion sizes
- Help to maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Continually update grocery list
- May monitor and order food and supplies through a supplier or buy in grocery store.
- Perform other related tasks as required by the immediate Supervisor
- Bake a daily dessert.

- Requirements:
- A minimum of 2-5 years experience as a cook
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated initiative and team spirit
- Food Safety Course
- Valid drivers license and good driving record
- Provide medical certificate
- Family and Community Services Record Check
- Criminal Record Check
- Valid standard Emergency First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certificate
- 2/2/3 rotation schedule every second weekend off.
