OVERVIEW
We are seeking a reliable Dispatch Coordinator to join our transportation team and support daily fleet operations. This role is responsible for coordinating drivers, managing loads, and ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and experience in a fast-paced logistics environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and dispatch drivers for pickups and deliveries
- Plan and assign loads to maximize efficiency and on-time performance
- Communicate with drivers regarding routes, schedules, and updates
- Track shipments and provide real-time status updates to customers
- Ensure compliance with HOS regulations and company policies
- Monitor ELD/GPS systems for driver movement and delays
- Resolve issues such as delays, breakdowns, and route changes
- Maintain accurate records of trips, loads, and dispatch activities
- Work closely with safety and maintenance teams to support operations
- Provide excellent customer service and communication
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in dispatch/logistics (trucking preferred)
- Knowledge of load planning and routing
- Familiarity with ELD/GPS systems (e.g., Samsara)
- Understanding of HOS rules and basic compliance
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
