Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Engineer to join our exceptional engineering team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your engineering skills while contributing to the design, manufacturing, and continuous improvement of our industrial products. If you are passionate about design, and manufacturing processes, this position is perfect for you! This position could work out of either our Maple, ON or Mahone Bay, NS location.
This role will be mainly responsible for the design and drafting of tanks, vessels and piping systems based on client specifications and engineering needs. This role will also be responsible for collaborating on the engineering R&D and automation goals.
Responsibilities:
· Drafting (50%–70%): Create accurate and detailed models and production drawings for FRP piping, tanks, and related products.
· Engineering and R&D Support: Improve drafting efficiency by developing automation tools, standardized libraries, templates, and improved workflows. Support the automation and continuous improvement of technical-specification generation.
· Process Improvement: Contribute to broader Engineering and R&D objectives by streamlining workflows, reducing task completion times, and improving the quality and consistency of deliverables.
· Technical Specifications: Prepare, revise, and publish technical specifications and documentation for production.
· Design and Drawing Review: Review, check, and assist with the development of models and shop drawings in coordination with the engineering team.
Codes and Standards Compliance: Review designs and systems for compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and customer-specific requirements, including OSHA and CSA requirements.
What you bring to the position:
Required Qualification
· Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modelling and the preparation of detailed technical drawings. Strong, hands-on SolidWorks experience is an essential requirement for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience using large language models (LLMs) and other AI tools to support research, review and improve technical drafting work, automate routine tasks, and develop simple scripts or code when required.
· Experience setting up and configuring AI agents to perform technical and administrative tasks, including integrating AI tools with applications such as SolidWorks to support design, drafting, review, and workflow automation.
· Experience developing VBA macros within SolidWorks to automate and streamline design and drafting workflows.
· Familiarity with DriveWorks and rule-based design automation.
· Experience with AutoCAD and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
· Ability to perform fundamental engineering calculations accurately.
