We are looking for a Senior Delivery Assurance Manager to join us in the exciting work we do in the Technology & Global Security department. It will be your responsibility to connect business, people, processes, programs and projects to technology to create new business value and enhance the customer experience by understanding the dynamics of internal and external environments in which the business operates and serves its end customers to how technology can enrich that environment. The role will ensure that information and operating technology are embedded within the respective business strategies and are supported by an IT roadmap. You will help shape and guide the direction of each program and project within your portfolio to deliver the absolute best technology solutions for our business with a focus on fiscal responsibility, technical stewardship, quality on time delivery and continuous innovation that streamlines the delivery experience.
The Sr. Delivery Assurance Manager will report to the Director, Technology Project Delivery & Planning. The role is located at either our Edmonton or Calgary offices.
What You Get To Do:
- Act as an IT trusted advisor to business stakeholders for strategic business planning, business decisions and implementation of initiatives with an IT component.
- Act as the point of contact responsible for managing cross-functional IT resources in execution and timely delivery of IT initiatives, programs and projects, that support business outcomes.
- Lead and/or manage facets of delivery including schedule, budget and scope with accountability for successful end to end delivery of technology for projects and programs
- Direct individuals and teams (including PGM’s, PM’s BA’s and Technical resources) in developing end to end delivery plans and solutions across your portfolio
- Support collaboration across all IT and Vendor resources to ensure design decisions are aligned to ATCO’s goals and proper stewardship of technology.
- Collaborate with vendors, internal and external IT and business stakeholders to identify technology requirements and solution opportunities for business outcomes.
- Direct participation and collaboration in IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by promoting innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
- Identify technology requirements and business enablement opportunities, collaborate with IT and business stakeholders in discovery and options analysis to guide Business case development that maximizes ROI
- Lead prioritization and planning of IT operations and project intake with designated business units on a regular basis.
- Assist in the development, tracking and management of the company-wide capital expenditure budget, departmental operational budget and strategic plans on an annual basis in conjunction with ongoing business requirements.
- Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including developing relationships with vendors and providers of current technologies and industry solutions in order to advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact.
Who You Are:
- Undergraduate degree in B. Commerce or MBA with PfMP, PMP, PgMP, ITIL and/or BRMP designation an asset.
- Minimum 10 years IT experience in a large, complex, multi-unit public company with a track record of success up to a senior level.
- 10 years of experience managing all sizes of projects and programs in an IT environment
- Strong project, program management, and project delivery experience in a large multi-stakeholder environment
- Excellence in business relationship management, proven ability to support the achievement of company business goals and objectives from an IT perspective.
- Sound knowledge and proven track record in information systems and services, including a strong knowledge of technical architectures.
- Strategic problem solver with proven ability to develop IT strategic plans and goals and implement them successfully.
- Strategic and transformative in approach and yet delivery focused.
- Excellent leader, able to collaborate and guide teams towards a common direction and focus
- Ability to negotiate and manage positive outcomes within an environment of competing interests.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in regulated industries is highly valuable to this role.
