The Automation Engineer for Cytiva Aseptic Filling is responsible for commissioning complex machines through the full production cycle including upgrades and servicing.
This position is part of the Services team located in Burnaby, BC Canada and will be onsite. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
What you'll do:

Commission machines through the full production cycle; system integration, Pre-FAT, FAT and Pre-Shipping at our facility in Vancouver for one of our product lines and travel to customer sites to perform SAT, Training, Qualification and Service support as necessary up to 30% of the time for one product line.

Provide support to Cytiva engineers, technicians, and customers in the office or remotely in the field by troubleshooting Electrical, Mechanical & Software issues on our products, relying on previous team experience, established procedures, documentation and vendor assistance.

Contribute to building team knowledge, prepare and implement software upgrades with supervision and support.
Who you are:

A post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in electrical, mechanical or mechatronics, with 1-2 years’ experience in programming, mechanical and/or electrical problem-solving skills.

Detail-oriented – able to identify and spot small deviations to expected design or behaviour, strong verbal and written communication skills

Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Understanding of robotics, PLCs, HMIs, Historian, industrial networking or machine operation, lean manufacturing principles, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, Standard Work, Six Sigma with hands-on experience is highly desired
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel – must have a valid Canadian passport to travel across borders
The salary range for this role is 70,000 - 80,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
