We are looking for a skilled Assistant Finance Manager to support the Finance Manager in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
- Assist with cash flow management and financial planning activities
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies
- Support the preparation of tax filings and liaise with external accountants and auditors
- Monitor and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial procedures and controls
- Process payroll and ensure accuracy of employee compensation records
- Prepare financial analysis and variance reports for management review
- Support budgeting process and track expenses against budget
- Maintain and improve financial systems and processes
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA is preferred
- 1-3 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modeling and analysis
- Experience with ERP systems is an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in the IT or professional services industry is an asset
