Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Warehouse Manager to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, ensuring efficient inventory management, and maintaining a safe working environment. This role requires strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to optimizing warehouse processes.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities including receiving, storage, order picking, and shipping of products.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Oversee the operation of warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage order fulfillment.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff on best practices for heavy lifting, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment such as cranes and forklifts to ensure proper functioning.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
- Manage inventory control processes including stock rotation, cycle counts, and order picking accuracy.
- Fabricate or modify equipment as needed to enhance operational capabilities.
Skills
- Proficient in using warehouse management systems (WMS) for tracking inventory and managing orders.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Experience with heavy lifting techniques and proper handling of materials in a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with AS400 software for inventory management is preferred.
- Ability to operate cranes and other material handling equipment safely.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in order picking processes.
- Strong leadership abilities to motivate and guide a team towards achieving operational goals.
