Job Summary
I am a lawyer with a law practice. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage our company’s financial records and ensure accurate bookkeeping practices. The ideal candidate will have experience with various accounting software and possess strong analytical skills to support financial operations. This role involves maintaining precise accounts, reconciling statements, and assisting with budgeting processes to help our organization achieve financial clarity and stability.
Specifically, we require a bookkeeper who can do the preparation of bookeeping for a lawyers Trust and General accounts.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Record and categorize financial transactions including accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform account reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare financial reports, account analysis, and summaries for management review
- Assist with payroll processing and related reporting requirements
- Monitor budget adherence and assist in budgeting activities
- Maintain organized records of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies
- Support audit preparations by providing necessary documentation and reports
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, with proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and account reconciliation
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze financial data accurately and efficiently
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and financial reporting standards
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Prior experience in managing multiple accounts and performing bank reconciliations is preferred
