The Role
We're hiring Architectural Sheet Metal Workers to join our crews on some of the most interesting commercial and architectural projects in the region. This is hands-on fabrication and installation work — custom flashing, standing seam roofing, and premium cladding on buildings people actually stop to look at. Whether you're a seasoned journeyperson or a skilled tradesperson ready for more challenging, higher-craft work, if you care about tight seams, clean lines, and roofs that are still watertight in one hundred years, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Install custom flashing, standing seam metal roofing, architectural panel systems, and specialty profiles — the details that make a building stand out
- Work with premium materials — copper, zinc, fibre cement, composite, and roll-formed metal cladding and siding systems
- Read and work from blueprints, shop drawings, and specs with precision (no “close enough”)
- Fabricate and fit custom metal components in the shop and out in the field
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean WorkSafeBC compliance record on every job
- Work alongside Nielsen management and other trades to keep projects moving on schedule
- Maintain the quality standards architects and GCs expect on Nielsen/Tectra projects
- Mentor apprentices where opportunities arise (a good stepping stone if you're eyeing a lead hand or foreman role down the road)
What We're Looking For
Must Have:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in architectural sheet metal, custom flashing, metal roofing, or cladding — this is skilled work, and it shows in the finished product
- Journeyperson Sheet Metal Worker certification (or equivalent BC credentials — actively ticketed apprentices also encouraged to apply)
- Solid blueprint and spec-reading skills
- Current WorkSafeBC certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well as part of a crew
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on experience with copper, zinc, fibre cement, roll-formed metal, or composite panel systems
- Foreman or lead hand experience, or interest in growing into one of those roles
- Computer proficiency for takeoffs, scheduling, or reporting tools
- A desire to be the best at what you do every day

Location & Schedule
- Base: Penticton, BC (projects throughout the Southern Interior and beyond)
- Relocation assistance available for the right candidates
- Hours: Full-time; typical commercial hours with flexibility for project demands
- Travel: Regional projects (Kelowna, Vernon, Kamloops) and potential Tectra Group work across Canada
