Kanata Montessori School is seeking a responsible and energetic RECE to join our team.
This individual would be our Lead for one of our "Casa" (ages 3-6) camps during our Summer Camps (June 29 - August 14, 2026).
**Must be available June 25-26, 2026 for staff training.**
Responsibilities as Summer Camp Lead:
- Oversee Ministry requirements, such as: maintain staff/student ratio, oversee the completion of necessary documentation such as Incident Reports, logs, etc.
- Implement engaging age-appropriate organized games, crafts, circle time, and other indoor and outdoor activities.
- Supervise children on arrival, lunch, play, and departure, in addition to camp activities.
- Proficiently find ways to address various behaviour and situations, and help children choose appropriate ways to handle their emotions and deal with conflict.
- Provide basic first aid to children, if needed.
- Oversee the clean up of camp materials and classroom, daily.
- Perform other staff duties required to ensure a safe and fun experience for all.
Requirements for employment:
** Valid RECE certificate
** Solid understanding of The Child Care and Early Years Act, ensuring compliance with regulations and commitment to maintaining high-quality care and programming.
** Recent (within the last six months) Police Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3), listing Kanata Montessori as the requesting agency. Request a copy by email to expedite receipt.
** Valid certification in Standard First Aid including infant and child CPR, from a training agency recognized by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
** Up-to-date Immunization records pertaining to: tetanus/diptheria/pertussis (Tdap), measles/mumps/rubella (MMR) and varicella (chicken pox). If you have no records, you will need to provide lab reports (blood tests) that show immunity/antibodies (valid for MMR and varicella).
** Health assessment from your doctor indicating that you're healthy and free of communicable diseases and can work with young children. (Form provided by Kanata Montessori upon employment acceptance.)
