We are looking for a Robotic Cell Operator to support the operation of an automated robotic welding process. The successful candidate will be responsible for starting and stopping the robotic cell, loading and unloading materials, monitoring the welding process, performing quality checks, and troubleshooting basic equipment issues.
Operators will be trained to identify and address common robot stoppages, including arc failures, tip changes, and wire jams. Issues outside the scope of the operator’s training must be escalated to the appropriate robot technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily startup and shutdown procedures, including completing required startup documentation.
- Load raw materials and unload completed products from the robotic welding cell.
- Monitor the robotic welding process and respond to stoppages or production issues.
- Troubleshoot common issues such as arc failures, wire jams, and welding tip changes when trained and qualified to do so.
- Identify issues that are beyond the scope of training and contact the appropriate technician or supervisor.
- Inspect raw materials and completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Identify poor-quality welds and arrange for parts requiring repair to be addressed.
- Follow production schedules and adjust to changing production requirements.
- Monitor raw material inventory and notify production supervision when supplies are running low.
- Maintain smooth production flow and work collaboratively with other team members.
- Participate in 6S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report workplace hazards, safety concerns, and policy violations to the appropriate supervisor.
- Attend all required health and safety training, including WHMIS and company orientation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Previous manufacturing or related experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing practices is an asset.
- Basic understanding of arc welding and weld quality is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow production schedules and established procedures.
- Passionate, enthusiastic, and safety-conscious approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour
