Due to continuing growth, we are seeking a Vendor Relationship Manager located in Waterloo, ON or Niagara Falls, NY. You will build and maintain strategic vendor portfolio relationships and will act as a bridge between our external vendor and internal strategic vendor relationships. The manager structures the team processes and matures our methodologies while influencing and building consensus with multiple partners to create collaborative, innovative, and high-performing strategies.

Responsibilities:
Vendor Management

Provides expertise to build and maintain a vendor management operating model to deliver value to the relationships and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of vendors and focuses on the required delivery
Works alongside senior leadership and key stakeholders to continually improve vendor management process and methodologies by implementing monitoring and control measures to standardize and ensure vendor management standard methodology in areas including governance, vendor reviews and contract accountability.
Identifies plans, tracks metrics and manages the database as they relate to vendor management to ensure that vendors build business value.
Analyzes, evaluates, validates and monitors contractual agreements to ensure vendor obligations and contractual terms and conditions are met, and ensures that vendor budgets are managed appropriately.
Leads vendor related communications to the business, customers, external vendors and consultants.
Provides a central point of contact for all new vendor engagements, NDA, legal review and executive approvals.
Designs, communicates and implements criteria to score vendors, provide feedback to partners, and compiles reports on vendors for review by Leadership Team.
Reviews vendor risks, contractual risks, financial risks and licensing risks. Plans, builds and delivers mitigation strategies. Creates and produces audit reports on licensing.
Uses strong analysis skills to troubleshoot all vendor problems and writes briefing notes for review and approval by Executive Leadership Team.
Partners with Project Management and sponsors to monitor and support the end to end procurement cycle - RFI/RFP process by upholding standard policies and practices, creating templates for vendors, providing the platform for success, maintaining and reviewing all procurement documentation with internal partners.
Builds, develops and promotes the central repository for procurement tools and templates.
Organizational Strategy, Planning and Analysis
Analyzes organizational strategy and how vendors can best be utilized to help meet corporate goals.
Participates in strategic and tactical plan discussions with Leadership Team to ensure alignment with corporate goals. Builds, develops and manages the strategic vendor partnerships.
Leads audit compliance, licensing strategies and reporting
Builds, develops and manages strategic vendor procurement partnerships to drive down cost pressures

Skills and Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree in a Quantitative Discipline, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in supply chain management as procurement or vendor manager
Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
You have current knowledge of the global consulting products and services market and its trends
Formal project and/or vendor management training and certification (Prince 2, PMP, Scrum/ Agile, ITIL, Lean, ITAM) is considered a strong asset
Engineering consulting industry experience is required
Team-minded individual, eager to lead and foster team building and development

Required Competencies:
Comprehensive knowledge of vendor management principles and methodologies
You have validated experience in the management of vendors/third parties, including, but not limited to, policies, performance, vendor risk, relationships, contracts (including negotiations), and issue and dispute resolution
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with vendors and internal partners at different levels
Experience in budget control, performance analysis and contract management
Strong understanding of contractual agreements, accurate record keeping and documentation
Experience in managing a SAM tool and/or contract database
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office software, including intermediate Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
