We Wag Toronto is looking for a passionate and dedicated dog boarding partner! This role is perfect for someone who works from home and has the time and flexibility to provide attentive care to a boarding dog.
As a boarding partner, you'll ensure a safe, fun, and engaging environment for dogs in your home. While you would start by boarding only one dog at a time, there may be an opportunity to board two dogs if you're interested and if they're a compatible match. It's also a bonus if you're willing to help cover a dog walk occasionally to support our team in cases of illness or time off.
The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of canine body language and a love for animal care. If you're a dog lover looking to earn extra income and enjoy the company of different dogs, this could be a great fit!
Duties
- Ensure the well-being of the dogs that are placed in your care.
- Conduct regular health and behaviour checks on all dogs.
- Maintain a tidy/clean environment to ensure there are no hazards that could pose a threat to a dog.
- Feedings based on what the dog owner has provided and advised.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behaviour and any concerns that may arise, as well as giving daily updates and photos of their time with you.
- Walk the dogs for an appropriate amount of time according to their individual breed and age requirements.
- DO NOT visit dog parks. Dogs kept ON-LEASH outside of home.

Qualifications
- Previous experience working with dogs or in a pet care environment is preferred. If you have not professionally worked with dogs you must have owned your own dogs in the past and have a strong knowledge of canine behaviour.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their care and safety.
- Excellent observational skills to monitor dog behaviour and health.
- Manage your schedule efficiently.
- A clear background check, including a police check.
- Safe, clean and secure environment for the dogs to stay.
- No other dogs in your space while you are working with a We Wag client.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $55.00-$170.00 per day
Expected hours: 1 – 120 per week
