Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time Childcare RECE Supervisor to lead our educational institution. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in teaching and leadership, with a proven ability to manage budgets effectively. As the Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in leading the school, supporting staff, fostering strong relationships with families, and ensuring the continued success of our programs.
Job Description:
As a RECE Supervisor, you will oversee the planning and directing the program of the center while also maintaining the day-to-day operations, being responsible for the overall well-being of the children, and overseeing/directing staff members in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (“CCEYA”).
The Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and stability in the development and direct delivery of the program, as well as being energetic, dedicated, and an enthusiastic RECE professional able to exercise sensitivity and maturity in dealing with both students, staff, and families.
Job Requirements:
- A degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognized college or university
- A degree, diploma, or post-graduate certificate in Early Childhood Management an asset but not mandatory
- An active member of the College of ECE’s in good standing
- At least 3 years’ experience as an Early Childhood Educator
- Experience using the Lillio communication application an asset
- Experience working with children with various needs an asset
- A valid Vulnerable Sectors Check
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR (Level C) or ability to obtain within the first (3) three months of employment
- Extensive knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act
- Experience preparing for and participating in Ministry of Education licensing inspections, Toronto Public Health inspections, and regulatory compliance reviews
- Working knowledge of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program, including fee reduction requirements, enrollment reporting, funding guidelines, and compliance obligations, with the ability to remain current on program updates and regulatory changes
- Extensive knowledge of the College of Early Childhood Educator’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
- Extensive knowledge of Ontario’s pedagogy “How Does Learning Happen” and “ELECT”
- A clear understanding of the Montessori, Emergent and Reggio Emilia philosophies
- Experience with enrollment management, waitlist administration, and family tours an asset
- Strong communication skills including active listening and reading comprehension
- Critical thinking, monitoring, and observing
- Time management and leadership skills
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office, Outlook, QuickBooks, CCLS, and internet applications
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership to staff and students, creating a positive school culture that promotes learning and growth.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the school curriculum, ensuring it meets Ministry of Education requirements and the needs of all students.
- Manage the school budget, allocating resources efficiently to support educational programs and initiatives.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, community members, and stakeholders to enhance student learning opportunities.
- Supporting enrollment growth through family tours, parent communication, waitlist management, and community outreach activities.
- Coach, mentor, evaluate, and support staff development while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with all educational regulations and policies while advocating for the needs of the school community.
- Lead initiatives that promote student engagement, achievement, and well-being.
Description of Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the day-to-day operations are conducted to Ministry of Education standards as per the Child Care Centre Licensing Manual
- Hiring, terminating, and overseeing staff, students, and volunteers
- Actively participating in the training and development of staff and classroom programming
- Ensuring that center Policies and Procedures are adhered to at all times
- Leading staff meetings in a manner that reflects a thoughtful, committed ideology, and best practices for children
- Monitoring and updating website information, Lillio communication, enrollment and waitlist information
- Overseeing and managing cleaning service and kitchen operations
- Staff scheduling and payroll reporting
- Managing all staff and children’s files
- Complying with all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual licensing requirements

Details:
- Reporting to: Director/Owner

- The successful candidate will be required to perform their duties for a total of 40 working hours per week, in any combination during regular operation hours
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
