The Dog’s Paw – Delhi, Ontario is hiring - Dog Kennel Assistant (Cleaning Shift)
Starting at $17.60/hour | Part-Time Position
Are you passionate about dogs, take pride in your work, and enjoy being part of a strong, supportive team? The Dog’s Paw is looking for a Second Shift Coordinator to join our growing team.
This position plays an important role in ensuring the comfort, safety, and care of our boarding dogs, while maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and efficient facility.
The position will begin as a part-time position with potential to move into a full-time position for an interested candidate. Training shifts will be scheduled based on the successful candidate's availability, however they will likely take place Tuesday-Saturday. Please note, although this position starts at minimum wage for training, we offer competitive wages and are happy to discuss this in an interview.
Part-time Schedule:
- Sundays: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Monday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM & 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Full-time Schedule - 4 ON / 4 OFF rotation:
- Sundays: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Monday–Saturday split shifts: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM & 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Must be comfortable with a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing attentive, compassionate care to boarding dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Feeding dogs and ensuring they have access to fresh food and water
- Administering medications as directed
- Providing regular potty breaks and monitoring dogs throughout the shift
- Handling dogs safely and confidently during daily routines and cleaning
- Monitoring behavior, wellness, and overall comfort, and promptly reporting any concerns or unusual activity
- Spending one-on-one time with long-term or non-social guests
- Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, hallways, common areas, and other facility spaces
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization
- Assisting with laundry and light grooming tasks a needed
- Supporting daycare operations when required, including playgroups and dog transitions
- Reporting incidents and safety concerns to the supervisor promptly
- Preparing the facility and communicating important information clearly for the next shift
- Looking for ways to improve our routines, environment, and overall guest experience
- Working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
This is an active, hands-on position and requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Previous pet-care experience is not required, but is considered an asset.
