Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and results-driven Social Media Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital marketing and a strong understanding of social media platforms. This role involves developing engaging content, managing social media campaigns, and analyzing performance metrics to enhance our online presence and drive brand awareness.
Responsibilities:
- Events Calendar Management: Maintain the Events Calendar by performing data entry to ensure the latest events are listed accurately.
- Blog Writing: Write 3 blog posts weekly that capture the vibrant activities, food, and culture of Calgary.
- Content Creation: Generate, and edit 1-2 engaging post daily per social media platform (Instagram, TikTok) using tools like Canva/CapCut. Content may include original text, photos, videos, and experiences.
- Content Alignment: Ensure content aligns with brand voice, trends, and audience preferences.
- Caption Writing: Compose captions that are consistent with our tone, blending creativity with cultural relevance.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with account managers to grow our social media presence through high-quality, consistent content.
- Trend Research: Stay informed about the latest events, activities, experiences, and food in Calgary to create timely and engaging content.
- Content Standards: Adhere to platform community guidelines, ensuring posts meet the highest standards of clarity, professionalism, and integrity.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating visual content on Canva for social posts and blog illustrations.
- Update the events calendar by entering new local events and managing existing entries.
- Track and report content performance across platforms, offering insights for improvement.
