The Equipment Bay Attendant position exists to support the instruction and logistics of Canadian Mountain and Ski Guide Training Program (CMSG) and TRU Adventure Studies Department field courses through the efficient operation of the equipment bay which includes issuing equipment, maintaining inventory, facilitating repairs, and carrying out preventative maintenance on equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and organize equipment check-out and check-in schedules for students. This will be based on department field course scheduling.
- Maintain the equipment bay inventory database.
- Maintain vigilance regarding equipment theft and non-return of equipment.
- Enforce departmental equipment bay and equipment use policies.
- Inspect, assess, and facilitate maintenance and repairs of equipment as necessary.
- Plan and organize the maintenance of department vehicles.
- Check that vehicles are operational prior to their departure on field courses.
- Ensure that vehicles have current licenses, insurance and CVSE permits.
- Maintain a repair and maintenance log for each vehicle.
- Keeps equipment room clean and organized.
- Organize the changing of summer and winter tires as seasons change.
- Follow TRU administrative procedures.
