As a Financial Clerk, you will play an important role in supporting our accounting, payroll, and administrative operations while contributing to the overall success of our organization. You will be part of a diverse and forward-thinking team dedicated to providing exceptional services throughout the tri-counties area of Oxford, Elgin, and Norfolk.
Who we are:
The Multi-Service Centre (MSC) is a non-profit organization serving the tri-counties area of Oxford, Elgin and Norfolk and focusing on delivering essential services to our community. Staff and management provide high quality, client driven care programs including Adult Literacy & Essential Skills, Employment Programs and Home Support services.
As a Financial Clerk at the MSC you will:
· Complete assigned admin tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting and month-end functions.
· Process invoices/purchase orders, payments, filing, scanning and mailing cheques
· Process invoices/statements, client payments, client inquiries and follow-up on client account balances
· Assist with assigned payroll activities, including data collection, data entry, verification and reconciliation support as needed
· Complete scanning, electronic filing and maintaining organized records
· Assist with various monitoring, reporting and other administrative requirements.
· Assist with reconciliations on client accounts, donors, general ledger accounts and generating financial reports.
· Provide internal and external information support, using various communication channels.
· Setup cell phone for new users with email and frequently used apps
· Provide backup for basic IT support such submitting helpdesk tickets from Users for password resets
Hours: This is a flexible part-time position averaging 15 to 20 hours per week. Scheduled hours may vary based on operational requirements and organizational needs. Flexibility to work additional hours as needed is preferred.
What you bring:
· Post-secondary education, in the area of accounting, payroll and business studies
· Experience working in a similar position, with direct experience working in accounting/payroll
· Solid understanding and adherence to confidentiality and other professional codes of conduct
· Basic mathematical, accurate data entry and computer/tech skills.
· Experience with Excel, Sage 300, AccPac, AlayaCare, Outlook and/or similar payroll/accounting programs
· Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and teamwork skills
