We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Psychometrist to join our growing team and support our assessment and diagnostic services.
The Role
The Psychometrist will work closely with our Registered Clinical Psychologist to support the delivery of comprehensive psychological and autism assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with individuals and families, has a strong interest in psychological assessment, and values a neuro-affirming and collaborative approach to care.
The successful candidate will assist with assessment administration, data collection, scoring, documentation, and clinical preparation under the direction and supervision of the Registered Clinical Psychologist.
Responsibilities
- Support the administration of standardized psychological, cognitive, academic, behavioural, and autism-related assessments.
- Work with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of developmental, learning, behavioural, and mental health needs.
- Build rapport with clients and create a safe, respectful, and supportive assessment environment.
- Collect, organize, score, and analyze assessment data accurately.
- Assist with gathering relevant developmental, educational, behavioural, and clinical information from individuals, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Prepare assessment materials and assist the Registered Clinical Psychologist with the interpretation and integration of assessment findings.
- Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation and records.
- Support the preparation of comprehensive assessment reports and recommendations.
- Participate in feedback and follow-up processes as appropriate to the role.
- Collaborate with caregivers, educators, therapists, physicians, and other professionals involved in an individual's care.
- Provide or support supervision sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches where appropriate and within the scope of the role, including documentation required for insurance purposes.
- Stay current with relevant research, assessment tools, and best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional, ethical, and organizational standards.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and supportive multidisciplinary team environment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and/or adults in a psychological, educational, developmental, or clinical setting.
- Experience with psychological, psychoeducational, autism, or developmental assessment is an asset.
- School-based or clinical support experience is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of standardized assessment administration and data collection.
- Ability to accurately score, organize, and interpret assessment data under appropriate clinical supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to build genuine rapport with individuals and families.
- Familiarity with neurodiversity, autism, learning differences, developmental disabilities, and/or special education.
- Ability to understand and apply relevant scientific literature and evidence-based practices.
- Comfortable collaborating with psychologists, educators, therapists, caregivers, and other professionals.
- A compassionate, respectful, and neuro-affirming approach to working with clients.
- Commitment to seeing the individual beyond their diagnosis and recognizing strengths alongside areas of need.
