Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial equipment, as well as the ability to work with electrical systems and perform mechanical repairs. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that our equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Diagnose mechanical issues in heavy equipment and industrial machinery.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, and other heavy equipment.
- Assemble and disassemble machinery components as needed for repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
- Weld components as necessary to ensure structural integrity and functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during testing and repair processes.
- Adhere to safety protocols while working in the shop or on job sites.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems related to industrial machinery.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Experience with crane operation is a plus.
- Familiarity with dealership standards for repairs and maintenance is beneficial.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
